A ratchet strap (ratchet tie-down) consists of polyester webbing and a ratchet mechanism with hooks; it fixes the cargo to the lashing points of the vehicle or container and holds it in place under braking, cornering and sea motion. Straps are supplied in different widths, lengths and tensile strengths, in orange, blue, yellow and white. Galvanised wire buckles for woven and composite strapping are also part of this group.
